Blue-green waters, brown beaches, violet sunsets, golden-yellow sunrises… were her initial and forever images!
HER SON, MEDITERRANEO AND THE GREEK ANGELS, ALL HER CHILDREN, ARE HER BELOVED SOURCES OF INSPIRATION AND EXPRESSION! SHE LIVES IN THE COUNTRYSIDE, DIGGING THE PAST AND HER GARDEN AND MAKING PLANS MAINLY FOR THE …PAST!
PALE RED AND PALE YELLOW TERRACOTTAS, OFF-WHITE LIMESTONES, OFTEN CARVED, SCATTERED HERE AND THERE… THE GUIDES ON THE PATHS OF HER ARCHEOLOGY STUDIES. AND THEN, THE GOLD TREASURES, THE GOLD JEWELRY OF ANCIENT GREECE, THAT WAS THE CHALLENGE FOR HER MASTER’S DEGREE.
The festive and vibrant Minoan colors, featuring deep reds, blues, and yellows reminiscent of the nearby frescoes of Knossos, set the benchmarks for her aesthetic choices.
Her creative vision is influenced by the aesthetics of red- and black-figure vases, Kamares ware pottery, as well as the pale white marbles found in museums and archaeological sites, which collectively serve as archetypal references for form and proportion. Her models are the perennial wildflowers of Crete, the blue and white flag, the intricate embroidery of traditional costumes, forever inhabiting her memories. Stella Kalogeraki channels her profound affection for Greek nature and culture through her unique creations, seamlessly blending the heritage of ancient Greece with modern aesthetics.
